- October 31st, 2006 | Streaming Video
The rumors have been swirling about iTV supporting 802.11n ever since Apple the streaming media device at the Showtime event. Now MacRumors points out that the recently upgraded MacBook Pros have been given a little boost in the form of a D-Link Atheros AR5008 802.11n chipset. This follows the discovery of the a draft 802.11n card in the recently released Core 2 Duo iMacs.
Apple has a constantly rotating product update cycle. Therefore it stands to reason that when they update their line of MacBooks, Mac minis and Mac Pros next they will also get the upgrade to 802.11n. Considering that Apple usually make a raft of product introductions at the annual MWSF in January, and sometimes quietly before, we could very well see their whole line updated to support 802.11n in anticipation of iTV.
Let’s see what happens.
