Rumor: 50″ Apple Display
- October 25th, 2006 | General
We’ve been aware ever since the Showtime event that Apple will be introducing the world to it’s own IP-based streaming media device, iTV.
Since then, rumors have been circulating with regards Apple’s choice of wireless protocol and a new universal remote control. Now we hear that Apple may also release a huge 50″ display to go with the iTV and the new remote.
Obviously you should treat this rumor with a large degree of skepticism, but it does make a lot of sense when you think about it logically. Apple are growing their business outside their core traditional market with the iPod, iTunes Store and now iTV. Add to this the list of accessories they currently have that link in to these markets, products like the Airport Express and iSight. So to me, it is elementary. Apple should further consolidate their move into the living room by supplying the complete solution; Apple computer running iTunes to stream video and music to an Apple display through iTV via Airport Express.
That’s a real mouthful, but it could well be the future for Apple.
