Throng Community Blogs For TV Fans

Got fave TV shows that you want to tell everyone about? Want to read what other people are saying? Maybe there’s a show you can’t stand and you’re brave enough to speak out about it. Throng might just be for you. Every member gets a blog, and you can add posts using one of the categories - rant, rave, gossip, spoilers, news, etc. (Because the site is Drupal-based, there’s also Private Messaging between members.) And in case after reading someone’s glowing review of, say, 24, you feel like buying the Season 6 Premiere DVD, there’s an Amazon-based shop - though not a shopping cart.

Rachel of Crea8 Design in New Zealand is one of the crew that lauched throng and has a few details. Or you can go straight to Throng and find out more. Sounds like a great idea to me, though I’m a little scared of saying how much I dislike Lost, 24, ER, and several other shows and getting flamed But seriously, I’ve created an account, and if I find the time, will post there on occasion.

You should note, though, that being a New Zealand-based community, there is a Kiwi bent to some of the shows. What’d be really cool, then, is the ability to actually watch some shows on the site. (As a long-time fan of Australian and New Zealander films, it’d be rather interesting to me to be able to see some of the popular shows.)
